Trick Or Treat!

Terrible iPhone photos of a very fun night of trick-or-treating. Andrew and Kit stayed at home to pass out candy. I went out with Arlie and Andi in the 25 degree weather for lots and lots of candy.

ERNC - First Snow

Quick hike at Eagle River Nature Center. The girls were getting so rowdy we needed a place to let them run it out. Fun trails following footprints and "clues" for the girls, beautiful views for mommy and daddy.

Trick or Treat in the Street

That last picture shows why there's a lot fewer pictures of Arlie on the blog nowadays (besides being in school). She leaves me in the dust! Things to do, people to see! :)

Andi was Murphy McNoodle (a piece of pasta that is a figment of her imagination), Arlie was a Banana Hello Kitty (continuing her tradition of mostly being Hello Kitty with a twist), and Kit was a flamingo (it was warm). We walked around downtown Anchorage and they got candy and to gawk at other costumes. The two older girls and I might still go out on actual Halloween but it was a nice day for all of us to spend time together.

South Fork Eagle River Trail

Today was Alaska Day which meant kids had the day off from school. A few of us from Mom's Club decided it would be a good day to fit in a snow-free hike while we still could. The girls and I got there late after I decided to trust Siri's directions instead of my gut. She led us astray, trying to get me to turn on roads that didn't exist and leading me to every dead end in the valley. I finally made my way back out the main road and figured it out. I may need to get a second opinion before trusting Siri's directions again. Ha!

The rest of the group had already left by the time we pulled up to the parking lot (they didn't think we were coming because the last text that went through from me read something like, !#@%$# Siri! I give up! and I didn't get enough signal to send an update) and we had to scramble but we caught up with them. I was so happy since the girls had been looking forward to hiking with their friends.

The sun is definitely not coming up as high on the horizon anymore and it makes for longer periods of amazing light!

Oh hai Kit! There were actually 3 moms and 8 kids total but I didn't really get many photos of them. I don't want them to feel like they're hanging out with the paparazzi!

This was towards the end of our hike. We didn't get to the end of the trail, 4 miles was definitely long enough for the little ones and it was still 2 more miles until the lakes (that I really want to see someday!)
