Hike It Baby Reflections Lake

A beautiful day for a hike around Reflections Lake. I'm trying to be a little pickier about which hikes I'm putting on the blog so it doesn't get too overwhelming. Today was such a gorgeous day it was hard to narrow down the photos!

Some far away shots of the girls, some close-ups. A lot of these hikes are when Arlie is in school which is kind of sad. We'll probably be out every day this summer though! :)

Hike It Baby Flat Top

I am so, so, SO glad I found this group of parents to hike with. So far Arlie and Andi are the oldest kids at two hikes we've been to but Hike It Baby is actively trying to let people know that you don't literally have to have a baby to join. LOL

People will even offer to take pictures of each other!

Almost every single candid of me looks like this but I wanted to show you how big Kit is getting! She's already wearing 4t! I wasn't sure I'd be able to carry her anymore but the hike was very successful! We'll see how I feel tomorrow though. :)

I feel like such a creeper posting pictures of people I just met to the blog but I LOVE this photo!

The group split in two when the relentless, uh, up-ness started getting to some of the hikers. The slushy snow was definitely making things harder than usual! We continued on the trail with a few other moms and babies. Andi was ready to actually go to the top which would be VERY ambitious. :)

Wind swept beauty. Kit was wrapped in my windbreaker and the other moms kept an eye on her and would readjust the coat when the wind would move it. It's so much fun hiking with other people who understand the challenges of hiking with young kids!

On the back side of the loop. That's Anchorage down there.

Arlie taking the easier way down.

My Funny Valentines

Andrew, the girls and I went to Glacier Brewhouse for a delicious early Valentine's Day dinner. Kit was really hamming it up for the camera!

Kit Is Two!

Kit is already two! Where does time go? I read her birthday post from last year and all of it still applies! She loves to read, climb, and play outside. This year she talks a LOT and is very precise with her enunciation. Except when she's mad and she'll rant nonsense while pointing her finger dramatically at the offending party. Kit loves to sing, mostly the names of everyone in our family over and over. She does this funny bun waggle when her diaper comes off, and when you pick her up she will have her legs curled and ready to give you a full-body hug. She says "EWWWW" really loudly when a sound offends her delicate sensibilities (funny at home, a little mortifying in public) and she really, really likes stuffed monkeys.

Now for the birthday questions! She's not quite old enough to answer them herself but I'll fill in the ones that I know for sure:

 2. What is your favorite toy? Stuffed monkey

3. What is your favorite tv show or movie? Dora the Explorer

4. What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch? Hummus

5. What is your favorite game? Hide and go seek.

6. What is your favorite snack?  Dried apples

7. What is your favorite animal?  Monkeys

9. What is your favorite book? Potty and Please, Baby, Please

10. Who is your best friend?  Andi

11. What is your favorite cereal? Lucky Charms

 12. What is your favorite thing to do outside? Slide down the snowy hill in the backyard

 13. What is your favorite drink? Milk

 24. What makes you feel sad? When she can't do exactly what Andi and Arlie are doing.

 25. What makes you feel happy? Having her whole family home.

 29. What is your favorite thing to do with Mom and Dad? Make them laugh.
