Kit's First Month
This blog is getting a little Kit-heavy but she's the only immobile one so I can take lots of photos of her! (And of course, I'm also kind of immobilized by virtue of me being her source of food.)
Arlie and Andi are enjoying being big sisters. Arlie loves doing more of the nurturing things - holding Kit and giving her a bottle. Andi is intensely curious about this new baby. She lays next to her on the floor and elicits smiles.
Kit is getting a lot bigger. She was born with dry, papery skin common to babies born past their due date and with daily coconut oil massages she has finally stopped looking like a lizard and has the soft pink skin of a baby. Her cry started out sounding like squeaky hinges but now is a squeaky scream. It's super loud and she rarely gives you warning it's coming. Luckily she's a pretty calm baby but there's been a few times she let loose in the middle of the night and Andrew and I almost shot up to the ceiling, Garfield-style. She mostly sleeps through the night though (feel free to hate me, it's baby #3 that has done so almost immediately) and that has been great considering Andi and Arlie are very active and don't need a sleepy mommy!
I can't believe she's a month old today. I couldn't wait for her to get here, and now I want time to slow.
